Community Care Behavioral Health

Community Care Behavioral Health is currently seeking a full-time associate regional medical director to be a part of regional offices located in Brooklyn and the Bronx, New York. The associate medical director is responsible for assuring the quality and efficiency of the Care Monitoring Initiative, a joint effort of the New York State Office of Mental Health and The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The initiative works with providers to identify consumers who are no longer engaged in treatment and determines strategies for their reengagement. Candidates' preference for work hours and days will be taken into consideration. 

Job Responsibilities:

- Assures psychiatric involvement in the development, approval, and review of all policies, procedures, and protocols governing clinical care.
- Assures that all identified consumers receive appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medical screening, and medical/psychiatric evaluation whenever indicated.
- Reviews service plans and supervises care managers in the integration of appropriate medical care, and ensures appropriate care management integration and coordination.
- Interfaces with physician consultants and provides direction for the physician consultants.
- Advises the chief medical officer and works with other senior management on the development and review of programs, positions, and budgets having an impact on clinical services.

Requirements:

- PhD in medicine or osteopathy from an accredited school is required.
- Ten years of clinical experience are required.
- Five years of management experience and demonstrated philosophical compatibility with managed care are required.
- Experience in behavioral health treatment and program development are required.
- Ability to implement programs of quality care analysis, peer review, and professional education.

Licensure/Certifications:

- License to practice in New York State is required.
- Board certification in psychiatry and a second board certification are helpful, but not required.
